Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kidz Perspective Week 10 Sometimes, for local people, the drive up the hill to Bangma's farm can be disappointing, as it reminds them of the once successful ice cream business that stood there, the Haywagon. After the Haywagon left the beautiful land, people feared the worst for the spectacular farm and property. Now, today, the almost year-old restaurant UxLocale occupies the picturesque property. People, including me, could not wish for a better restaurant to occupy the land. Walking in, you have 360 degree view of the entire valley, Bangma's farm, an endless solar field, and the colorful sunset. Strands of lights drape along the outline of the outdoor patio. As you wait to be seated, you sit on a hand-crafted bench, staring at the antique Victorian style hostess table. Looking around, the atmosphere makes you feel very welcome. Photos line the walls above the unique tables. Unlike most restaurants, UxLocale has many different types of tables. Each table (most or all of them are handmade) gives you a very homey feeling, although sitting at some of them can be uncomfortable. The menu is full of farm-fresh Italian (and more) classics. All of the pasta is homemade, the eggs come from local farms, and the vegetables are hand picked. Your plate is delivered in an appetizing presentation. My favorite meal to get is the pasta with sausage in vodka sauce. Every time I have gone and gotten that meal, it has been presented differently (first time with parmesan on top, second with arugula, and third with a variety of spices.) The sausage nearly melts in your mouth, while the creamy sauce makes your taste buds bubble. The pasta is (as my parents say) closest to what you can get in Italy, in America. Another menu item I highly suggest you try is "grammy's mini meatballs." The 100% homemade meatballs will crumble in your mouth, leaving you the mouth-watering sensation that will make you want more. The perfected tomato sauce recipe accompanies the amazing meatballs. I highly suggest you check out UxLocale if you get a chance! Visit their website here. Call them at 508-779-7515. UxLocale is located at 510 Hartford Avenue, West in Uxbridge, MA 01569 (below). I apologize that I went inactive for a year, but I am back! I will try to get a post out every month. If you liked the review, don't forget to share it with your friends! Thanks!

Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kidz Perspective Week 9 We make Georges of Galilee a once-a-year tradition. When we go, we usually go after going to the beach. Georges is a traditional seafood restaurant on the Rhode Island coast. You can see the ferries and the daily fishermen leaving and entering through the channel as you eat. But, we came here to read about FOOD reviews, not scenery reviews. Georges of Gailee has almost an unlimited amount of seating...so there will almost never be a wait (unless you want to sit outside.) The menu has stuff for everyone. Not a seafood lover? They also have salads, sandwiches, and pasta. And they have stuff for you people who like traditional seafood (not fried) like lobster, fish, and shellfish. Like fried seafood? They have Fish N' Chips (really good) and clam strips. I think you get the point. Much of the fish and shellfish is caught daily by local fishermen. Sometimes, you can see the fishermen coming in while you are eating. The service is a little slow, but the atmosphere is amazing. I would recommend Georges of Galilee if you are in the Galilee area of Rhode Island. You can visit their website here. Call them at 401-783-2306. They are located on 250 Sand Hill Cove Rd Port of Galilee, RI 02882. I apologize for the break from reviews. I have been very busy with school. Don't forget to share with friends on FaceBook and Twitter! Thank you!
Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kidz Perspective Week 8 The past two weeks I have been in Canada eating like a king. I picked one restaurant that I thought served authentic French cuisine to review: Batinse in Quebec City, Quebec. We got seated at a table that had swinging benches. Everything was brightly colored with teacups and crocheted hanging lamps over the bar. The menu had tons of different types of food including everything from salads to duck. When you think of French food, you might think of French fries and crepes. This restaurant takes it to a whole different level. I ordered a salad and it came with home made croutons, walnuts, blueberries, mixed greens, feta, and onions and was served along with a brie cheese, blueberry melt. IT WAS THE BEST SALAD I HAVE EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH! My mom ordered venison ravioli. It was my first time trying venison and it was perfectly cooked with the right balance of juice and meat. No one at the table was even close to disappointed about their food. The food came quickly for how good it was. If you are ever in Quebec City you need to go to this restaurant. Their menu is available in English. Visit their website here. You can call them at 581-472-2555. They are located at 1200 Rue Saint-Jean (Saint- Jean St.). Reservations recommended for large parties. Thank you! Catch you next week!
Kid Critic: Zach R. Photos from batinse.com, Google, and me Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kid's Prospective Week 7 I went to Arlington, MA (outside of Boston) with family friends last week. They know about my blog and took me to review Szechuen Dumpling. The place looks like a small Chinese takeout restaurant (It kinda is). It's not formal. It's mostly casual. Our friends ordered their usual dumplings. They came very fast and were beautifully presented. I bit into the pork dumpling and... It was amazing! All the flavors blended perfectly together! I forgot where I was and all I could think about was nothing. The taste bubbled in my mouth. Every bite was a taste to remember. Afterwards, we got some vegetables and chicken. The chicken was great and the stir fried vegetables were cooked perfectly. I know this review was short, but there's not much else to say.
Kidz Criticz has given its first award to Szechuan's Dumpling: BEST MEAT DUMPLINGS IN THE BOSTON AREA! Congrats! Szechuan Dumpling is located on 1360 Mass. Ave. Arlington, MA 02476. Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kid's Perspective Week 6 A few weeks ago my family and I went to Gloucester, MA to see what the life of a fisherman is like. We went into The Crow's Nest where part of the movie "The Perfect Storm" was shot to see if they had lunch. They said no, but they recommended a place across the street called Seaport Grille. We came just at opening and got seated quickly on a deck facing the ocean. We were looking at the menu and noticing that all the fish came in that morning on the boat parked right next to where we were seated. Our seafood came and it was gorgeously presented. I got my fish n' chips and thought "It's going to be like any other fish and chips I could get anywhere." But, the second I bit into one my mind became blank, my eyes widened and my fork reached for another one. I couldn't believe fish could taste that good! I finished the whole thing even though I was stuffed to the gills afterwards (no pun intended). During the whole meal everyone was completely silent. That is ether a bad thing or a good thing (I hope it's a good thing). We all walked out happy and two pounds heavier. The Seaport Grille seems like any other restaurant that you could go to anywhere, but don't judge a book by its cover. The Seaport Grille is located at 6 Rowe Square Gloucester, MA 01930. You can call them at 978-282-9799. Visit their website here. Next week I will be away so reviews may be late. In a few weeks we will be having a Canadian special where we review restaurants in Quebec and Prince Edward Island. Remember to answer the question on the right hand side. Thanks for reading. "Catch" you soon! Kid Critic: Zach R., 11 Photos by Zach R. Seaport Grille is located... Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kid's Perspective Week 5 This week's review is focused on Hide-a-Way Pizza in Mendon, MA. Hideaway's outside looks just like a barn (I do not know if it used to be a barn). When you walk inside it is very crowded with only 3 or 4 tables. You may judge Hideaway's food by the inside, but you shouldn't. Their pizza has the perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio with fresh toppings. The downside about their pizza is that it is very soggy and very filling. I would not reccomend Hideway as your regular pizza place, but just a one-time pizza place. Hideaway's pizza isn't as good as Anzio's (click here for Anzio's review), but it is much cheaper. Plus, Hideaway sells much more than just pizza. They have calzones stuffed with filling, chicken parmesan, and amazing chicken fingers with the best honey mustard you will ever have in your life. Hideaway is more of a takeout place then an eat in place. They are also located across the street from George's Surf and Turf so you can get delicious ice cream for dessert. The only flaw in Hideaway's service is that sometimes on busy days they tell you that your food will be ready in about 30 minutes when it takes about an hour. On days that they aren't busy though their service is very fast. I would recommend the 4-piece chicken fingers with honey mustard and curly fries or steak fries. Hideaway is located at 95 Uxbridge Rd. (Rt. 16) Mendon, MA 01756. You can call them at 508-478-0600. Thank you for reading. Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter!

This restaurant is amazing in too many ways to list, but I can list some of my favorites. The building itself is beautiful. It hangs out over the river and has a great architecture, giving it a very modern look. It has a giant window so you can look out from your seats and see a magnificent view of the river. Jacky's is a great place to view Providence's "WaterFire" (click for link to WaterFire website). This Asian cuisine restaurant is known for their sushi. I wasn't ever really a big sushi fan, but my mom (who knows sushi well) ordered what sushi she thought I would like; and I now love it. I would recommend going with someone who knows sushi. If you don't though, ask the waiter/waitress for suggestions of what to order. The sushi is very nicely presented with wasabi and ginger (to clear you pallet). They have other Asian food, but I would recommend the sushi greatly. Their service is fast (for how busy it is). The food is a little bit pricey, but it is totally worth it. On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the world's best restaurant) I give Jacky's a 8 3/4. They have many different locations, but the one I recommend is called Jacky's WaterPlace. They are located on 1488 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, RI 02904. Call them at 401-353-0088. Visit their website here. Thank you for reading. See ya next week! Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kid's Perspective Week 3 The past 2 weeks we have reviewed fancy, gourmet restaurants. This week I decided to go plain and simple. Miss Mendon diner has plain, simple food and an extraordinary atmosphere. While seated in the main part of the diner it feels as though you are on a train's dining car. In the entrance hall/waiting room they have irresistible looking desserts on display. The wait for a table is very fast (or no wait at all), and a friendly waitress/waiter will bring you to you table. Miss Mendon is open for all meals but I would recommend having breakfast there. Every time I go I get the make your own omelet that is folded perfectly. They stuff the omelets with just enough filling. Its not to much. It isn't not enough. Its juuussst right. Sitting at the bar is also always a fun experience. You can see them make your food right in front of you. Their home-fries (fried potatoes, not french fries) are always cooked perfectly. Visit their website here or call 508-634-3000. It is located on 16 Uxbridge Road (Rt. 16) Mendon, MA 01756. It is inside the Imperial Car Dealership lot (follow the signs). Thank you. Stay tuned for next week's review. Kid Critic: Zach R, 11 Photos from Yelp Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant Reviews from a Kid's Perspective Week 2 Anzio's is known for their thin crust "New Haven/New York" style pizza. There are all different types of pizza including the margarita pizza (shown above in gallery). It has a great surrounding that makes it feel like you are eating in Italy on a vineyard. For those of you who don't like pizza, they have other Italian food such as chicken parm and pasta. The thing that makes Anzio's pizza unique is that they make everything from scratch the day you order it. You are able to taste the freshness in all the food. If you are gluten free they also serve gluten free pizza. The food is made in a reasonable amount of time and the staff is quick helpful and friendly. They got a good review from Phantom Gourmet (Phantom Gourmet's review video shown below). It is next to Pecorino (reviewed last week). It is located on 135 Westboro Road (RT. 30), N. Grafton, MA 01536 and there phone number is 508-839-4900. Visit there website here. Below is Phantom Gourmet's review of Anzio's brick oven pizza. Thank you for reading. Stay tuned for next week's review. Kid Critic: Zach R, 11 Photos from Anzio's gallery Anzio's is located...
Gallery Kidz Criticz Restaurant reviews from a kids perspective Week 1 Pecorino is a fine cheese and wine shop that is located in North Grafton near Tufts Veterinarian Hospital. This country cheese shop sells a variety of cheeses from locally made to creamy French Bries. They have an assortment of fine crackers and fresh handmade bread that is made daily. Connected to the store is a wine gallery with wines from all over Europe and other places. The wine is very nice and reasonably priced. They also sell hand-crafted silverware and plates. Pecorino is a great experience for a foody family or someone who likes wine and cheese. Pick up some cheese to have as an appetizer before dinner or to serve at a wine/cheese party with your friends. They also sell hand made chocolates. My family and I highly recommend this store. It is in the same building as Anzio’s Brick Oven Pizza which will be reviewed next week. It is located at 135 Westboro Road (Rt.30) in North Grafton, MA 01536. Visit their website here or call 508-839-9200 for more information about Pecorino. Stay tuned for more weekly Kidz Criticz.
